Treasure

“A year ago a friend of mine from Canada sent me 700+ worth of MP3’s. It’s only now that I have listened to half of it. Such a treasure trove of music”

*Thanks alfie. Music has a way of finding the heart of its destined listener

Dancing and singing

Heart’s thunder pounding

For it’s sweet release

Wondering in disbelief

Despite the madness

For just one night

The voices you speak

My sanity to keep

A moonlit garden

For a soul on fire

A companion to my side

Gracious yet not deserving

Thankful I found you

Before you decide to depart

A treasure in my vault

Not noticed by the hourglass

By fate you have shown your way

My motion this promise I make

This journey together we’ll take

(After a brief hiatus…the desire to write was so irresistible)

“Who will save our street children and prostitutes from poverty and society’s oppression”

(December 1, 2007)

She’s a midnight princess

Walking to and from

As she casts her spell

From her hourly reign

In her majestic throne

She eats a peasant’s meal

In her command she serves

Those who yearn of worldly things

Under the fly-over

I see life pass her by

Not knowing the reason why

As the cars speed by

In the limelight

He’s an innocent prince

Dressed in pauper’s clothing

Hands stretching forth

Steals a bite just to survive

In his vast kingdom he reigns

With nothing to lose all to gain

In his command there are no rules

Dog eat dog to reach every turn

Under the fly-over

I see life pass him by

Not knowing the reason why

As the cars speed by

In the limelight

Kings and queens in strong resolve

These lies that cloud we believe in

Are they different from you and me

We who we think are learned

Humanity’s savior yet a failure

To serve for a higher purpose

And yet its purpose is to serve us

To furnish us with our worldly desires

Under the fly-over

I see our lives pass us by

Not knowing the reason why

As the cars speed by

In the limelight

10 AM Sunshine

“Troubles do end. Just as there are nights, surely there are mornings. A sun to shine to welcome the better things coming”

(December 2, 2007)

Winds of advent touching face

Whispers in the morning

Of a beautiful evening

The midnight commotion

Fallen from its haunting

Gone with the calming silence

Graceful doves in glee dancing

To the music of angels chanting

Tranquil sounds of humming

Of winter dews dropping

The skies of ember falling

Undeserving to a grand awakening

A warm kiss from a 10 am sunshine

Hands of heaven tender a soul rising

From its death it is reborn again
